How to manufacture the best Backpack?
Manufacturing bags or backpacks is not that easy! It requests a lot of hand works and very specific skills from the workers. In our bags and backpacks factory, our workers are qualified and follow a special training. They should start with simple hand jobs at the beginning such as stitching jobs, sewing jobs…etc. and will then do more skillfull jobs to give a very nice and proper finishing to each bag we make.
Every customer has a special request and wants to give a very unique look and shape to their bags and backpacks in order to make people recognize their brand name from the first look. It means that every order is different and request again and again to be very precise and check clearly the customer bag’s specifications.
In order to manufacture the best backpack, you need to take care of 3 key points :
- Confort : harnesses are the key point as people will mainly carry their bags on their shoulders and back with probably heavy load inside such as books, computer…etc. In order to avoid back pains, the EVA or Polyester used to make the harnesses should be very soft, confortable and resistant.
- Design : the bags should be friendly user and come with a main compartment and plenty of usefull pockets to carry your stuff. There should be one main pocket for a laptop computer, then secondary pockets to slide your mobile phone, accessories, small books and of course a secret pocket for your passport, credit cards or currencies.
- Resistant : most of the bags and backpacks are guaranty 3 years by the bags suppliers and certain brand names guaranty their bags for life. In order to achieve that result our bags and backpacks are made with high density polyester such as Oxford fabric material and we also use materials such as Cordura (corduroy) from Dupont.

Which Materials are used to make a Backpack?
Bags and Backpacks are mainly made with polyester fabric materials and these polyester fibers can be made from recycled yarns or fresh new yarns. Nowadays, the real trend is to take care of the environment and try to use as much as possible RPET fibers (recycled fibers) which are more eco-friendly as their made from bottles collected from the oceans. Our materials suppliers are REPREVE and GRS certified and guaranty that the materials they provide are 95% to 100% made from recycled yarns.
For customers who are looking for very resistant materials we would prefer to use Cordura (Corduroy) from Dupont. These are heavy duty materials used to make gears, clothing, bags and backpacks for the police and military people.
What are the different steps to design a bag or a backpack?
- Make a benchmark to check what kind of bags and backpacks your competitors are doing
- Explore the different materials available on the market (fabric, buttons, buckles, rivets, zippers) and decide which materials is going to compose the main parts of your bags
- Define the shape and style of your bags and try to make it as unique as possible
- Decide the type of items people will carry in their bags in order to design the pockets sizes and the different compartments
- Combine your Logo with the main colours of your fabric material
- You re almost done and you can start to make a first sample/ prototype with your bags and backpacks supplier

Our engineers and research & development Deparment are working constantly to improve the quality and confort of our bags and backpacks depending of the usage and situation.
Once our customer has decided what would be their bags used for, our main goal is to find the perfect balance between durable materials, light weight and confortable backpack to wear.
The harnesses and shoulder bindings are always made with our in house foam and cut with a specific shape and ergonic design to well support a maximum carrying weight and perfectly fit to any shoulders morphology.
As every customer has special requirements, we can also made your own harnesses shape and prepare some samples for your approval.

What are the different costs to manufacture a backpack or a bag sample?
- Once you have finalized your backpack or bag design, we will prepare a first backpack sample for your reference based on your requirements
- The backpack sample cost is roughly between USD50 and USD100/pc depending on the materials selected
- In addition to this sample cost, there will be always somekind of accessories to personalize your bag or backpack such as Logos, buckles, rivets, webbing. Those accessories might need a mould and the tooling cost to make a Logo is USD30/pc and USD100/pc to engrave or emboss a Logo on a plate, a rivet or a buckle.
- Please count about 20 to 30 Days to complete the moulds set up and get all the materials ready to make your backpack sample
- Once your bag or backpack sample is finalized, we will arrange studio pictures for your reference. So, you will be able to use these beautifull backpack pictures for your website or catalog
- If you are not satisfy with your backpack sample, we will be very pleased to bring some modifications and prepare a new sample for you.
Where are the based backpacks manufacturers?
- You will surely find a lot of backpacks manufacturers in China and in many Asian countries such as Vietnam or Cambodia, meanwhile finding the right backpack supplier geared to your specifications and market is not an easy job!
- First, you need to prepare a list with all your backpacks specifications and technical drawings in order to make sure you have perfectly define the type of bag you want to manufacture.
- Then, you can start contacting backpacks suppliers in China first. Most of them are very reliable and manufacture high quality backpacks. More you go south in provinces such as Guangdong province, more the quality will fit to the European market. Meanwhile, you need to explain your request in details. Make sure the suppliers really understand your needs and the type of bags you want to manufacture.
- Compare price quotations : You can ask for price quotation first. Chinese backpacks manufacturer will be very happy to quote you a price that you can get as an estimation.
- Narrow your suppliers selection : You can a short list of suppliers. We would recommend to shortlist 2 or 3 backpacks suppliers in order to start making samples.
- The samples will tell the truth : Most of the Chinese suppliers charge for samples. This is a normal way to start a cooperation in China and the samples charges should be between USD50 to USD100/pc depending of the specifications of your bag or backpack.
- Compare samples and time to select your final supplier : Once you have received the backpack samples from your different suppliers, you can compare the quality, check how good or bad they are made and make your final decisions. If there is any modifications to bring, the suppliers will be happy to do it for you and will try their best to improve the quality.
